Dankung mini butterfly is the smallest most comfortable mini slingshot out there. I also own the big brother butterfly FYI. The mini is small could fit in a key ring. however it is comfortable to grip and shoots almost like a full-size slingshot. We can shoot ammo from bbs to half-inch. I would definitely recommend the slingshot to anyone. The only two drawbacks were I wasn't a fan of the purple color of the hand wrap. and $18 seemed a little bit too expensive. Overall I'm giving this item 5 stars because it is the only slingshot that is this comfortable in this small. You will not go run ordering this item. Dankung again come through with top-quality. If I had to take price in to consideration this might only be a three or four star Item.
The appealing design of the ergonomic POM ‘Conglin’ Slingshot quickly caught my eye but the plastic material immediately rang a warning bell in my head. A front image view of the frame showed thin forks that I believed would awkwardly flex, bend, and possibly break. Plastic frame? It looks unsafe!
The internet has a wealth of information on POM so I dove in and summarized what was useful for the review. Polyoxymethylene (POM) is a light-weight engineering polymer known for high strength, low friction, good performance in cold temperatures, and resistance to impact and fatigue. It was first developed in the late 1950s and is commonly known as Acetal. Hundreds of different grades are available for different applications. Dupont developed a well known grade, marketed as ‘Delrin’. The durability and stiffness of this thermoplastic make it very suitable for slingshot applications.
This X6 POM frame is manufactured by the well known Conglin company and made available for purchase from DanKung. The slingshot is available in solid black and also a variety of color designs. My example is called ‘coffee’ and is characterized by swirls of beige and cream color throughout the shiny dark brown frame. I find it rather attractive.
The shiny ergonomic POM frame seems much harder than HDPE. Although the forks are thin for a plastic material, I could not detect any annoying flex when shooting. The fork loops are the only section that have the round pencil-like thickness. The fork is actually noticeably thicker near the handle and tapers towards the ear loop (0.70” – 0.42”). This feature is not evident from a top view but a side view shows this stiffening characteristic.
I also have the Antelope frame which is the stainless steel version of the X6. The POM is only a quarter of the weight of the stainless steel model (55g vs 210g). The weight is the same as some of my small self-made ‘board-cut’ frames with similar length, but the POM is much less bulky. Part of my frame collection includes some small examples made from ¾” thickness hickory, maple, merbau, laminated bamboo and 5/8” HDPE. These frames all weighed in at 45 to 65 grams. At 55g the X6 POM falls right in the middle for weight.
Under magnification I can see seam lines around the perimeter of the frame. This leads me to believe the frame is injection molded. Fork grooves are found on the front of the forks to aid in keeping the tubes in place during the shot. I found that they work very well at preventing the annoying tube roll that can happen with plain fork loops. The frame also has a generous pinky hole that allows a lanyard attachment without interference with pinky placement.
Yes, this frame is comfortable. It comfortably fits into my hand and allows the same hold as I use with my stainless DK frames. With a sideways hold my thumb locates on the bottom fork ear and index finger wraps around the upper fork, right under the upper ear. My pinky gets a deep hook in the dedicated hole. The frame magically ‘locks’ into my hand and feels quite secure. There are no sharp edges, points or corners to cause discomfort. The frame holds as nice as it looks.
In other reviews I mentioned that I am a fan of small slingshot frames. The Conglin POM X6 definitely fits into this ‘small’ category. The length and width between the tubes is similar to the DK General II, Black Bat, and Ergo Dancing. The frame length provides adequate leverage without excess handle hanging below the lower edge of my palm.
Measurements
Overall length = 4.85” (123 mm)
Width across frame at fork loops = 3.80” (96.5 mm)
Width between forks (at widest) = 1.44” (36.5 mm)
Fork loop outside diameter = 1.18” (30 mm)
Fork loop inside diameter = 0.38” (9.5 mm)
Width at top of handle = 1.04” (26.5 mm)
Width on outside of handle at widest = 1.70” (43 mm)
Handle thickness = 0.70” to 0.90” (18 to 23 mm)
Fork thickness = 0.42” to 0.70” (10.5 to 18 mm)
Total weight without tubes = 2.0 oz (55 g)
Total weight with tubes = 2.3 oz (65 g)
Tubes & Flatbands
Like all DK ‘looped tube’ frames, the X6-POM will easily accommodate the thin Malaysian tubes such as 1632, 2040, and 1745. These skinny Malaysian tubes can be shot with single strand on each side, full doubles, or even in a pseudo taper style (partial doubles). I’m enjoying double amber 2040 with 6 3/8” from fork to pouch. With my 32” draw length this rig is shooting right at 200fps with 3/8” steel ammo.
Overall Opinion
It should be obvious that I enjoy this little frame design. It shoots quite well for me and the light weight will make it a sweet frame for my cargo pockets during the summer. It’s a comfortable design to shoot and I don’t have to make any adjustments when switching back and forth between my other DK frames.
If you are searching for a light-weight ergo frame with more durability than wood, the X6-POM might be worth considering. The price sure is reasonable.
Probably the most ergonomic, comfortable and accurate flat band slingshot I've ever used, it's solidly made with an aluminium body, the price is well worth it and it's pleasant to look at, buy a couple as they won't be around for too long.
This a fantastic ergonomically shaped slingshot.,with an easy to change band attachment system.( It takes both tubes and flatbands.).
The design allows me to shoot with a straight wrist pointing style of shooting which I love. This makes it extremely accurate for my style of shooting. I can highly reccommend this slingshot.
It is made from a non-ferrous aluminium alloy which is very strong and has an excellent weight to it..(the description says 304 stainless but that is a typo)
Guys don't let this one pass, its phenomenal, it's amazing, the accuracy is next to none, the ergonomics are also brilliant, it looks the part, and the price is just super duper cheap. To all slingshot fans, don't make the mistake of missing out on this one.
I bought an Agile Toucan from a guy on a slingshot forum. I really like it. It's small and fits easily in my pocket. It is also very well made and shoots good. I will be ordering a second one soon.
My Iron Hero arrived yesterday. The first thing I noticed is the machining quality, fit and finish which is all very well done. The new ones (at least mine) have a stainless steel roller and the roller arms are lacking the little tabs shown sticking out on the sides. I assume these were for an aiming reference. It took me a while to find my aiming reference point on the frame for side shooting (gangster style) but once I got it dialed in, it shoots as well as anything I have. Overall I like it and I am glad to add it to my collection. It is very heavy for a slingshot being of such robust build and all stainless steel. I will most likely only shoot this one in my back yard and not take it out much in favor of lighter models that are easy to pocket. I would buy again.
I love the ergos, it fits like a custom made slingshot without the bulkiness. The butterfly extensions allow you to choke up, therefore allowing more powerful bands. I think this is one of the better slingshots from dankung. I think the only think that would make this better would be titanium;). Hint hint
There's only 80 of these in stock (at the time of writing this review) don't miss out and buy one right away, its such a well designed slingshot, its powerful and very accurate and most of all it's very cheap, its a steal at the listed price which includes shipping, trust me you won't be disappointed, I use mine everyday, it makes holes in food tins with 8mm and 9.5mm steel balls.
The quality of this pouch is amazing.. you will not believe me, I am still shooting the first one I got with the angry owl! I have over 5000 shots out of it, and it is still in shape! Crazy material, very nice.
As an avid collector, I just could not resist ordering the Butterfly Mini Sling.
Like it's big brother (the Butterfly), the flaring "earlobe" is it's most distinguishing feature..
It is more pronounced on the Mini in order to provide additional thumb support given its reduced size, overall width of 95 mm. (83 length).
A comfortable and safe shoot despite it's diminutive siz,e, even in full butterfly mode.
Mine was beautifully wrapped (two toned, red and black)., and came banded with 1632 looped tubes that I could actually use with ease (another first).
Well done DK!
I love this little shooter. It's small and ready to go anywhere, anytime. This is quite similar in design to The Black Eagle, only this one is a little shorter in the handle making it even easier to conceal into a pocket. The fork design is a little more curved than the Eagle so making this catapult a little more "forgiving". Wrapped in para-cord, I provides a solid grip onto a powerful pocket slingshot.
WOW!!! What a nice little shooter with plenty of "handle" to grip onto. Slim in style but with a little longer handle, this slingshot is easy to stick into the pocket and bring anywhere with you. I appreciate the pronounced protrusions on top of the forks. For anyone who's had a band slip off of the forks, you'll appreciate how this slingshot keeps things in line for you. Somewhat similar in design to The Tiny Ghost, this one is wrapped with rubber tubing giving a great purchase on the slingshot.
I received this through a promotion offered by Dankung. It works very well for replacement for some of my Western style "wrist rockets". As well, I've put some onto a couple of OTT catapults created by some Western sling shot makers who seem to like to put the flat bands on all their slingshots.
WOW!!! What a nice catapult! I like the wide width to the forks. It's a beautifully crafted, solid piece of construction. Feel very solid in the hand. The aiming points are truly helpful when using aiming style shooting as opposed to instinctive shooting style. The bands that came with it would need Jorge Spare to draw back, but putting on a milder set of bands made it enjoyably shootable. A great addition to anyone's collection.
The first time I had to insert the smallest of bbs to plug up the end of a tube, I thought I'd never accomplish what needed to be done. The bb slipped and slopped all over the place and I was covered in sweat just trying to get that damn little bb into that damn little tube.
Then, along came the bb installer and all that grief just went away.
Thank you dankung!!!! I was not expecting this beautifully wrapped pixiu slingshot!!! I love it. Its amazing!!! Thank you.

Received my Blue POM - Love it!
I want to buy another one - COFFEE.
The plastic catapult the Dark Bat is superb, one of the best catapults I have used!!
