Answer a question of slingshot band: what material and tools do you use to make slingshot bands?

--by USA shooter. Currently using STARDI Latex Band Blue, 0.8 mm x 15 cm, band size 20 cm x 2 cm tapered to 1.5 cm, measured with a standard steel ruler, cut on a standard self-healing mat using a Fiskars 197950-1001 45 mm rotary cutter, tied off with Dankung professional tying ribbon. Testing on a Rosewood Toucan. So far, so good!
--I am using TUBULAR latex, stronger than bands --by a Switzerland user: Exercising rubber, a cutting board, a roll-cutter, and a measuring ruler for length and width.

---I use 1745 tubes and a 'Magic Band Maker' (the needle-like metal tool in the picture below). homemade slinshot band My nex project !!! Mi proximo proyecto !!!

I always buy DANKUNG comercial bands, those bands ready for shooting, really excellent quality. Recently I was thinking about 'homemade slingshot bands', by 'homemade' I mean assembling the band at home. You can use the commerial material such as tube, flatband sheet, tying string, rig etc. And of course, you can also use office rubbers, latex gloves, ballons, condom (that's funny, but I am serious and I do remember some guys at youtube made slingshot bands with condom) or something similar So I'd like to know what's the best homemade slingshot bands in your view and how do you make it and what's the power and speed of it.

There aree only 3 parts make

There aree only 3 parts make up of a band, pouch, band, tying thread.

Attaching the bands to the frame The rubber attachment is a vital part of the slingshot: A bad one kills your bands, makes the slingshot inaccurate or can be very dangerous. Be sure to choose one that fits your kind of bands and slingshot.

agree with you

Attaching the bands to the frame. The point where the rubber bands are fastened with a pouch is vital in several ways. First, its failure can lead to a band snapping back into your face....that's horrible.
DANKUNG really has many useful skills and tips and tools on how to do it well.

my homemade slingshot band

I've learnt that surgical tubing is the mosted used for serious homemade slingshots. But in my opinion, 'homemade' doesn't mean you must use material in home. You can use any material as long as you make them at home. I used to buying commercial tube in meters and make my own bands at home which should be 'homemade' too.

this is one I just made. Can you image what my slingshot looks like?

my experience of homemade slingshot band

All good homemade slingshots will require these materials: good y-forked frame. When 20 years ago I were a kid , the only source of y-forked stick was from chopping a tree's branch. Went the forest and hunted for a good y-fork and chopped it off. Then is to check for cracks, imperfections, and rotting in wood as one wouldn't want slingshot to get snapped when they are shooting it.

But nowadays, with many advnaced tools bought from Internet, I am not limited to the y-forked stick, I can make a forks from timber. Of course, for safety reason, not any wooden timber, only make homemade slingshot with some high quality timber.

Anther thing one requires is elastic band. It is a string that you I'll be pulling back as well as snapping for slinging ammo of yours forward. The stationery band or surgery tube works, but if you are serious to make a slingshot, I recommend you buy commercial slingshot bands which is cheap and offer at least triple power compared to other alternative bands. Such as DANKUNG SHESHOU band.
