Happy shooting!! I am very glad and excited to receive the great-quality Slingshot bands; Sheshou 1.2mm several 2 meter rolls plus the gifts; bull's-eyes(4 pieces) and about 1m pouch-to-band tying ribbon. Guys let me tell you this:-Sheshou bands are NOT exercise resistance bands for physio therapy patients!! They for sure are made for slingshots. Why I say this1) They are very strong, slick and snappy. 2)They are very springy rubber, never-lazy; when you just unroll from the roll, it flies on you like a snake, never seen this before3) To launch 16mm steel balls, I cut the bands 23cm long. Tapering 25mm at fork to 20mm at pouch(including 4cm for fork tie and 2cm for pouch tie, Active length is 17cm for my draw length of 90 CM). I have goneto try it today at the field. It was sunny after much rain this morning. After tying the my slingshot appeared childish because the bands seemed very narrow. I saw some 2 duck swimming about 40 to 45 meters away. I had with me also my theraband silver(from hygiene) cut the same length but tapers 55mm at fork to 25mm at pouch but double bands at each fork. I wondered which one of the 2 slingshots to use on the ducks. I decided to use the She shoshou one with 16mm(childish looking one). I loaded and pulled hard thinking it will not reach them. Lo and behold, the steel ball went way above their heads and far in front of them and splashed the water with power. I took the theraband silver slingshot and loaded and I tried to shoot at the same place. To my surprise it didn't go with as much power! May be the weather affects theraband but does no affect Sheshou bands. I got goose bumps; are these narrow looking Sheshou bands going to replace threrabands silver. I very much think so. (In spite of the fact, I killed so many small games with theraband silver and I was brought-up by it. Still very grateful to it). I did not stop playing around with my new Sheshou Slingshot, I pulled hard on a mango tree trunk with 16 mm steel balls. The mark left on the trunk was disgustingly deep and kind of(more or less) snapped my fingers! I said may be the taper is for 17mm ball not 16mm. I continued playing around with it. I took a small hard plastic water bottles and keep it 30meter away as a target. I shot at it, I missed it narrowly with vigorous power. I pulled on it the second time. Lo and behold; loud bang. I got it and flew it away some distance in front. This time no more hand slaps. I kept banging the water bottle from various distances with Sheshou new bands till it was completely broken up. The draw weight is normal and flexible. Conclusion: Now I understand why Dankung says; their bands are specifically made for Slingshots/ Catapults.Longevity I have yet to complete my experiments.Last but not least, ( please don't laugh at me). I cut the bands with new double Olfa rotary blades. Never knew they were two!! I saw very very thin Sheshou strips between cuts of each band trying to clean every now and then. When I finished I opened the blade from the rotary cutter to clean the very thin strips and the Two blades separated and dropped on the self-healing mat. The blades had stuck with each other in their package.Still the Sheshou bands seem unaffected by this. Next time God willing I will cut them with only one blade. Thanks guys, Ahmed
Thanks very much for your interest in using thicker Sheshou bands like 1.2mm manly hunting bands.
I wonder what ammo size you use. As for me I use 16mm and 17 mm steel balls with a draw length of 90 cm. I cut my bands 24 cm long. Tapering it 25mm at fork to 20mm at pouch. 2cm is used for pouch tie and 4cm at fork tie. I use hardwood fork. Trust me, it can send these balls with immense power and longevity of bands is more than you like it. These thick bands give you longevity of big tubes and speed of flat bands: the thing which is very rare when it comes to flat bands. Only dankung has provided ability in flat bands. So no need to carry spare bands or slingshot. If you do, then its more security and total confidence in your arsenal. But you can also try an extreme taper of 30 mm at fork to 15mm at pouch wth the same length of 24 cm. You can shoot longer distances with extreme power. Longevity is a bit reduced, but you will love it. But if you you use lighter ammo than 16mm or 17mm steel balls, please ask Tim Lee to recommend a taper. I also advise you never to forget to turn the pouch 90 degrees. Puuch size I use is 9cm long. Width is 1.9cm to 2cm.
I wish you all the best
