Z-Tao makes some of the best BFS rods on the market today. Now The 5ЎЇ UL rod's replaced Old 18. It is my go to for throwing anything from 0.5 to 2 gram lures. I never knew Z-Tao before,Thank Dan Kung for it.

I fish in the UK and my budget perch set up is tight. This reel rated for 0.5g-12g lures and it can throw the sub 1g lures as far as you need. Cast better than the Tsurinoya jaguar but not very smooth reel. It gets the job done overall I love it. Think it cost me less than £70  and the performance for price I am very satisfied.

got this XIAOJU rod today . Super noodle and great fun with panfish and other small fish. Easy loading for quick little flick casts. Very fun to fish. The relatively short grip doesn't bother me as much as I though it would too. Insteadly it's very good for flick casting in tight areas.

Hi, I'm so interested in getting into in BFS fishing but I don't even know where to begin of rod and reel, what I am sure is I want to be able to throw lures as small as possible. I'm in Germany, many European perch here, the weight ranges from 0.5lb to 4lb. I am eager to fish them using the BFS setup. Please recommend

Works extremely well with small lure below 3 grams, I measured the spool(without bearings) is 6.2 grams. It really has the lightest stock spools of any BFS reels, lighter than the current champion : The Abu Garcia LTX BF8!!
